I have seen many posts and articles about the money being in the list! As an internet marketer with lists built over the last 6 years, I am well aware of this. Fortunately for me, when I send out a broadcast email, I usually get at least a few sales. This article will give you a few ideas why many if not most don’t get many sales, even though they have been busy building an email list.

Email Is Not Dead!

Let me start with this one. So many marketers are pushing Social Media and other things as the “new” way to get customers. There are rumors saying that email marketing is dead. It is simply not true. Granted it is no longer as easy as falling of a log, but all those marketers like Mike Filsaime, Ryan Deiss, Jeff Walker, Armand Morin, etc still send me broadcast emails! It may be harder to get people to opt in now, but it is still the best way to market anything on line.

Who Are You Targeting

This one is very important, and most people ignore it. If at some point you want to make sales, you had better make sure your contacts are interested in what you have to offer. Don’t make up ads that get the maximum number of subscriptions so your list looks good. If you are paying for ads, particularly with PPC, you only want those who are high quality prospects to go to your web site. This can save you a fortune in advertising dollars. On Facebook, Google, etc well written ads will only attract buyers, or those who seriously want to buy. The rest we don’t care about. Let the tyre kickers get on someone else’s email list. I only want responsive people. That is how I get 20% or higher open rates on emails.

A Separate System For Each Target Group.

OK, you know who is your ideal customer. You know who is going to buy products like yours and what they look for. Probably there is more than one group. I would tailor a landing page, sales page and autoresponder message series for each group and build a separate list. This way, I can send specific information relevant to a particular niche, plus general product information to a larger group. The more focused your sales activities are, the more likely you are to get customers.

What Are You Selling?

Really, this is the main point of this article. Many people do generic ads for say an Ebook on making money in the share market and then try to sell a video training series. If this group has no interest in making videos, they won’t respond! What’s more, a whole series educating them why video is essential to on line success will probably fall on deaf ears as well. They will simply not open the emails, because they have no interest, even if it could be of immense benefit.

What Does This Mean?

If I am advertising making money with shares, I had better make sure my information is educational, informative, and contains a few tricks most people don’t share about making money with shares. The subjects of the messages need to be all about challenges faced in this area, or ways to get better results. Then the headline or subject should entice recipients to at least read the first paragraph. Your first paragraph is there to hook people in and convince them if they don’t read the whole message, they will be missing out.

Relating Your Messages To Current Events

My best message so far was one on what Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley have in common. It caused a huge spike on my blog from a single email. Using a topical headline which is relevant to your message really helps get that curiosity factor going. Entertainment works. As far as possible entertain with your messages. You can make a mystery story, cartoon, analogy, joke, etc. Just keep the interest.

Some Tips On Measuring Open Rates.

Now I am going to reveal to you one of my success secrets. When I write an article such as this one, I will post it on my blog. Then I will create a generic version without buy links or a sales pitch and syndicate it to article directories. Next I send an email to list members who are interested in this area and tease them to go to the blog and read the entire post. I see the spike in page views on the blog and compare it to the size of the email list. It is always higher than the open rate my autoresponder program suggests. This gives you your true open rate. For instance I have a list of 2,000 and I get a spike of 400 over 2-3 days on my blog. That means 20% of people not only opened my email but took action. Finally I create a series of keyword rich back links to the post to increase search engine traffic to the blog. I do this using powerful software that does this from my computer

Conclusion

Let’s face it, this is what you are looking for. You create a post, email your list, and then enough of those people actually read your message and take the action you want them to. Every now and then you make an offer of something that they want. IF the offer is irresistible, they will buy it. Why? Because you built trust by offering relevant and useful information before you asked for their money. Trust is gained by keeping your lists targeted and full of people who are interested in the topic.

We Are Related To Everything!

Mitakuye Oyasin is a phrase I learned many years ago while working with some Lakota Sioux Shamans in the Catskills north of New York. Literally it means “all my relations”. The Lakota believe that we are related to everything on earth, and that respect for all things is the way to peace and prosperity.

What Does This Mean For Marketers?

As Marketers, we are traditionally told that our opportunity and products are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Our mission is to tell everything that gets within 3 feet of us about it, and learn to be rejection free! Now, this works for the sales and mentally unhinged types who are immune to rejection, but for the rest of us, we are humans and have feelings! Let’s face it, most of us don’t like rejection and tend to take it personally.

Using the Lakota analogy, there is another way to look at this. This is not to assume that everyone wants to join our business, or buy our products. Instead, we build relationships with people we like. Our influence with those people is a consequence of how much our contribution enhances their quality of life in many ways. We respect everyone and their opinions, even if we do not agree with them. If politicians didn’t do this, we would be in a perpetual state of civil war.

In the modern world, there are so many ways to find new friends, so this is not an issue. It is what you do with those friends that will make or break your Network Marketing business!

Charles Chips

Where To Fish

OK, I am not a fisherman. When I was 7 or 8 my dad used to take me fishing for leather jackets in Sydney Harbour. If your dad did that now, first you probably wouldn’t catch any fish, and second you would think he was trying to kill you, such is the level of pollution! Fact is, if you fish in a toxin laden pool, where nothing can survive, I can guarantee you won’t catch a fish!

Now you could go looking for trout in the sea, but you probably won’t find any there, better go to a stream or lake for that. On the other hand, you won’t catch a marlin in your local creek! Big game fish just don’t go there.

I think you get the point. Where you look for your new business partners and customers is important to your success. You want to build relationships with the right people, not the wrong ones.

Building Relationships With Network Marketers

First we need to think about where these people hang out. Yes, they are on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and the like. They belong to tribes like the TSA, through which I have made several new friends. These people also scour the blogs, bulletin boards and use google and other search engines to find information. They are interested in making the world a better place and personal development. They either have, or want to, get out of the rat race. Does this sound familiar? If you are a Network Marketer, you probably fit at least one of these profiles, if not all. So, finding the pond is pretty easy.

What Do Network Marketers Want?

Yes, they want to find more people to join their team and they want to know how to build their organisation faster. That’s why pitching your business up front will not only probably not work, but may alienate a future leader in your organisation. Once you understand what they want, what you can do is to find things that will help them get what they want faster. “All my relations” means offering them help to get what they want, not what you want!

Now I know about disappointment. I have lost count of the number of people I have spent countless hours with training them, showing them how to create success, only to have them not step up. Mind you the ones that have are making a nice income these days! Not everyone is prepared to pay the price of success. Your best option is to find programs and ideas that can accelerate their success and show them how to use them.

The Pay Off

OK, you introduce them to a method to speed up growth of their business. What next? Well you keep them informed of how your gig is growing. Set yourself up as the expert, the person who knows how to build faster, and get better results. Then let it all go. Keep doing this consistently and then wait. You now have a fish on the hook. It it’s a Marlin, it will be harder to reel in, and you need to let the line slacken from time to time. What you are waiting for is for them to be discouraged with their current venture. If and when that happens, you are there to catch them! Bingo. Do this with enough people, and someone will always be ready to jump in and join you.

Establishing Yourself As An Expert

This is where I come in. What if you could introduce them to a training system that teaches them step by step how to create an on line presence and use it to market their MLM products? What if once they set this up, it provides a constant stream of customers week after week, month after month, year after year on autopilot? What if this was all available for less than $1 a day? Think about how much money they would save chasing rainbows and useless get rich quick internet schemes! Do you think they would like you more – or less?

All you have to do is to take the training system I provide, the MLM Profit Booster, which shows step by step how to attract and retain a constant stream of customers, and how to pluck business partners from that group, and mentor them through the exercises, keeping them accountable. Do you think you could do this? I mean what you have to do is ask, “do you think you can complete this part of the exercise by Friday”? They say, “yes”, and on Friday you check in with them. If they haven’t done it, you explore whether they really want success or not. If they have you congratulate them and move them to the next task. You are now a coach!

What Is This All about?

I invite you to become an affiliate for the system – it’s free and it pays you. You can join the affiliate program at http://mlmprofitbooster.biz right now. Very soon, there will be a range of marketing tools you can use to help your friends be more successful on the internet. While you are at the site, I would click on the “Looking For More MLM Profits” tab at the top and register. It is up to you whether you join or not, but at least you should go through the sales process. It will explain what the program is about. Once you enrol 3, let me know, and I will give you a free membership, that is your reward. Just drop me an email.

This program is very detailed, encourages you to create your own branding and presence, teaches you how to build your own custom system, and has enabled me to get huge reach with my products with minimal expenses. Yes folks, it is new and different, and over delivers on quality and value!

I hope you join us as a way to build your presence as an expert on the web. I won’t be pitching my opportunity to you, as we become friends, I simply help you build whatever business you desire!

Thanks for listening,

John

I know the concept of video email is quite new. Certainly providing links to videos on emails is becoming common, and many marketers do that. So why not take the next step?

What You Can and Cannot Do.

First, right now, embedding a video in an email is not possible. One day it might happen, but right now email servers don’t have the necessary software for this. This means text links or graphics.

Research suggests that using a graphical representation of your video and then providing a direct link to the video email is the best way to achieve video emailing right now.

The Case For Video Emails.

In an article by Mark Brownlow, “Video email: current practices”, he discusses the research on video emailing. There are some interesting statistics.

Looking at this statistic, it is obvious that video is now acceptable to most internet viewers. “According to comScore, US Internet users viewed 14.8 billion online videos in January, with YouTube alone scoring over 100 million unique viewers in that same period”. Finally video has come of age, and we are all conditioned to use it.

Comparing emails with or without a video link, “When not linking to video his click through rate is between 20-27%…when linking to online video it’s consistently between 51-65%” Anna Yeaman. We know that a video link receives a much better open rate than a simple text message.

With an image in the email, views are 5-10 times as many!

Campaign Monitor reported that: “…the screen grab was clicked on more than 5 times as often as the text link.” Mark Brownlow says of his own email campaigns,
“In my own newsletters, a video image attracts between two and ten times the clicks that the accompanying text link gets”.

Do you get this? If you have a properly constructed image in your email, 5-10 times more people will click on the link and view your video. If you are in sales, information dissemination, advertising what would you p[ay to have 5-10 times more people view your message?

Direct Video Or Video With A Link.

When considering video email, there are three possibilities;

A text Link

A Video Thumbnail

The video plays within the email.

Video Text Link

We are all familiar with text links pointing to videos. These are common in emails now. The challenge is that the link is usually a bunch of numbers a meaningless symbols and not very sexy! The author puts a catchy headline in there to entice you to click. Now you get about double click through rates when you direct your emails to a video, so it is pretty good compared to sending them to a text blog entry for instance.

Video Thumbnail

This is an illustration of an attractive video email thumbnail. It was produced with Talk Fusion. When using a video thumbnail like this, the research suggests a 5-10 times better response than a standard text link! This is huge.

It is not intrusive, as you only see the video if you click on the link. We believe this is the best way to use video email right now, and the research backs us up. Compared to an email with a simple text link to a blog post, you are likely to see a 10-20 times greater open rate. This is phenomenal

Video Within The Email

There are programs around now that will send an email with a video in it. While this seems great, imagine receiving 20 emails and every time you click on one a video starts paying! I think this is intrusive, and many are likely to get angry at invasion of their personal space.

Because of this in your face aspect, I would suggest that the nest form of video email now and into the future will be the thumbnail version, where with the click of a mouse a high quality video plays seamlessly.

What Video Email Service Should You Use?

I think by now you can see why I am so excited by the concept of video email. It is exciting, new and I believe in the same space as TV was when it first appeared. Right now video emails are not that common. This means sending a message this way is very likely to get opened. As people become more familiar with the technology, expect even better response to video emails, and reduced openings of more traditional text links.

After I was Introduced to Video Email, I did my homework to see what was available.

ComF5

Formerly hello, hello, this has been around for a while. The cost is $39.95 for up to 5,000 email addresses and bandwidth is limited to 40Gb. There is no commission payable at this level and to earn residual income you need to pay $99.95 a month.

As you can see from the thumbnail provided, their video templates are fairly ordinary and in my opinon, unatractive.

Deliverability is fine. There is no mention of an autoresponder.

EyeJot

This is a FREE service if you want to send videos less than 1 minute long. You can upgrade to a 5 minute service for $99.95 a year with tracking. No referral commissions are payable, and there are no autoresponders.

Once again, the actual video template is afairly ordinary and not eye catching. Nevertheless, for a free service providing you onnly want to send short messages to people yo know, it would be OK.

There is no video conferencing, and the basic service can’t be loaded onto youtube, etc.

Jive Systems

At $99.95 a month this is a premium service. You can have up to 60 minute videos, although I am not sure why you would have one that long on an email! There is a free trial, but you have to enter credit card information to do it.

There is no compensation plan but they appear to have good training. For most people this may be a litle expensive, but it appears to be onre of the better services.

They suggest the $99.95 price point is for a limited time to increase urgency.

Talk Fusion

This is the Email video platform I am using. This incorporates a very easy to use interface, enabling video emails to be on their way in less than 5 minutes from the first mouse click. The templates are great as can be seen from the thimbnail and they will even design a professional template like this with the Executive package.

They have a very professional web site and autoresponders and video conferencing. One great feature is the ability to put your videos on your blog, and social media sites. The autoresponer includes a cubscription form you can place on any website. Subscribers are automatically sent a pre established video and or text email message series. This is very effective in communicating with prospects or customers.

There is an affiliate plan and after an initial joining fee of $175 a month, your monthly spend is just $20 for up to 1,000 clients on your mailing list.

This product has recently had a makeover and features beautiful templates, high deliverability, ease of use, and a very nice feel. With so many video formats, the ablity to upload many formats seamlessly is very important.

One more thing, you can combine different video segments in the same email. For instance you could have a video introducing a customer to a new property for sale. This could be a personalised messag of 15-30 seconds. Then you immediately switch to the second video, a tour of the property you are offering. At the end you could splice in a third video with a call to action.

Video Email is the new emerging technology in video. Right now you can capitalise from this new wave. By referring others to the talk fusion service, you can not only pay for your own system, but receive an additional income stream for your business.

To find out more about Talk fusion, go to www.talkfusion.com/1270061 and join for just $175 plus $20 a month. I am developing some great tutorial on video marketing to enhance the effectiveness of this great service.

Conclusion.

The research shows that using video email will make a positive difference to your business. Right now Talk Fusion not only offers professional templates and a low monthly charge, but the opportunity to recover your investment using referrals.

To contact me with any questions, email john@pems.com.au For more information on video emails and talk fusion, go to http://johngaydon.com where I have a number of articles including this one you can send others to view.

Are you sick and tired of people ignoring your emails? Many find them impersonal and there are so many people writing fancy copy these days, it gets a bit over the top!

When TV first hit the airwaves, it was an amazing medium. Response rates were unbelievable and advertisers flocked to get their message on TV. Naturally this has waned over the years, but it illustrates the point that new technologies give those who get in first, an unfair advantage.

The internet is changing at lightning speed. Only last week I connected to ADSL2 which means that my streaming videos run just like TV. The Australian government is building a national broadband network to provide instant video to everyone and other countries are ahead of this. This changes the game completely.

Presenting Video Email.

It may seem hard to believe, but video email has arrived! Finally we can directly email people and when they open the email there we are, ready to talk to them! What a brilliant idea.

Imagine Receiving An Email Like This

Now using a webcam, you can record your message and send it to your list, communicate quickly with family, and invite people to your training sessions. Who knows, the right video could even go viral, and spread around the world!

Is There A Market For Video Email?

I asked myself whether anyone wants video email or whether it is effective in getting your message across? After all, it wasn’t long ago that marketers started using videos on sales pages. Well take a look at these stats and you will see that 2010 is the year of video email! You are right at the front of a massive new wave in internet marketing and communication. This was a survey done to business about what they intend to do with video email.

“Usage Rates Will Skyrocket This Year
When asked if they used video email in 2009 and plan to use it in 2010, only a combined 15.7% of respondents said they used it last year. However, more than 80% of respondents plan to use video email this year, with 11.9% saying they used it last year and will increase usage this year. Only 0.8% of respondents said they used video email last year and will decrease usage this year.

Video Emails Seen as Conversion Tool
Almost 66% of respondents said video email can result in significant or moderate increases in conversion rates. Only 5.1% don’t think video email has any influence on conversion rates, with 28.9% unsure”.

Did you get that. Usage of video email is expected to rocket from 15.7% of businesses last year to over 80% this year! This is astounding. You can guarantee that those in Internet Marketing and Network Marketing will be on to this very quickly as they are amongst the fastest innovators on the net. A year from now everyone will be using video email.

Talk Fusion

When I first heard about this, I was stunned. In fact I looked at it for a few days and did my homework. I discovered that video email is in its infancy. There are a few options, but they usually involve a text email with a link to a video page. This is like firing up a coal fired steam train compared to an electric train! These days everyone wants everything instantly and most won’t bother to click on your links. Now you can send the video right on the email. Your friends simply hit play and there you are!

Is This Expensive?

Well, no. that really surprised me. You can have a 1,000 mailing list for just $20 a month. Heck, one sales or one motivated person more than pays for that! That’s why I joined. Better yet, it has its own business plan, so you can make a handsome profit marketing this concept.

It Takes A Lot

Those of you who know me realize that I get a new pitch every week. There are a whole host of companies out there with sometimes great ideas. After studying MLM for years, I know that those who sell the tools often make the most money. This is going to be the ultimate tool in the next few years. The survey said they expected 45.5% increase in conversion using video email. Once that gets around everyone will jump on it!

What Is Stopping You?

If you are entrepreneurial, you know a good deal when you see it. Video email is about to explode, and this is obvious! Advances in technology assure that. You can literally have your face in front of someone in less than 5 minutes, a fact I will be demonstrating on a future post! Right now, you can do one of two things, unless you want to pass this by and miss the wave, that is.

This is really exciting. The future is here and in 2010 that future is Video Email!

By John Gaydon

I put my first internet site up in 1998, when things were so much more difficult that they are now. Over the last 11 years, I have followed quite a number of gurus, spent thousands on training courses, and built a number of successful businesses – enough to increase my income by 30% year after year.

I have watched a few people go from nowhere to millionaires in a few years, and many more come and go very quickly. What I discovered is that the fake it before you make it philosophy is very prevalent on the net. There are so many people out there looking for a magic bullet to change their life, that business in a box products promising to do just that are appearing with gay abandon.

Maybe there are some people who purchased a product, pressed a button and made money, but I haven’t met them yet. The people I know who are successful spent many years perfecting their craft, building strategic relationships, and building a reputation as someone reliable and innovative. None of the people I know got there by accident!

My twitter inbox is full of carefully worded emails offering the definitive answer to my problem, the system that will print money from my PC and flood it into my paypal account. Friends of mine have ignored me and spent $5,000 or more on turnkey systems. Years later they have made so little money it doesn’t even cover monthly expenses. My question is, how many times have you donated to these marketers, and how many more times will you do it?

Of course, there is hope for all of us, and in my opinion it doesn’t lie in the hands of the latest duplicable cash cow. So is there a solution – a way you can change your life on line? Well yes, of course, I hardly leave the house these days and I am doing very nicely thank you!

The answer I have discovered is knowledge plus action produces income. The secret is to learn how to create success, how to build your own presence and become an expert in your own right. This is what the good people teach. A few points to look for in a mentor.

What is their point of interest? Some of us get a real buzz out of seeing someone whose life we touched succeed (I do). Others keep working out how they can grab more and more cash. Which would you follow?

Often the gurus share what worked last year, or last month these days as things change very fast. You want more permanent solutions.

The answer lies in a complete system, not just one aspect. Before you go off looking for that next magic bullet, you need to build your house on a solid foundation, or it will just wash away very quickly. I find that those who offer a complete solution have the better results. Go for the fancy stuff later!

Of course, personal motivation, personal development and ability to take action are all important. Without these, no one will succeed.

I am very excited about the internet and the future. I just want you to be discerning about what you get into. I have spent years studying with some great people and step by step assembled aspects that work – at least for me and some of my students. I am busy training a select group in my MLM Customer Acquisition System – my master plan to dominate any niche. I have as much as possible kept it step by step and cut out some of the options which don’t work. Even with this, there is a tremendous amount of work and faith required to get to the point where you have an unending flow of business and product customers coming to your door, but as you assemble all the elements they will come.

These days, I get all the business I need – I don’t want any more and that is why I am now devoting my time to training others – leveraging my skills.

I will offer this course more widely once I have ironed out the bugs, got a bunch of testimonies from real people, and trimmed down the fat so it is pure content and golden nuggets of ideas and strategies that work. Why not register if you haven’t already, and you will hear of progress and be one of the first to know when I do decide to unleash this on the wider community. You will also receive my special report titled, “7 Amazing Ways To Explode Your Network Marketing Success“.

In the meantime, reflect on my words, they may save you a fortune avoiding scams and get rich quick schemes – they never worked for me!

John Gaydon is now in his 12th year of Network Marketing Success.
