OK, I know many of you are Internet or network marketers, or have something to sell, or a program to join. I d too!

Years ago, it was pretty easy to get interest. You simply put an ad on google, gave them a reason to opt in to your site and then sent out a couple of emails and got them to read your sales letter. People trusted most anyone who knew enough to put up a good web page.

Something Changed

As with every other industry, a few smart marketers moved in on the scene and started making magic bullet web sites, guaranteed to earn you a fortune. I tried a few of these, and personally they didn’t provide me with the promised millions. Even the exact landing pages provided by the gurus received almost no response for me. Bit by bit, our faith in marketers has been worn down, as we consume one solution after another, and the results simply don’t come.

Now I know that until recently, if you threw enough money at Google or Facebook, in advertising, you can get some business. Some people will answer just about anything, and there are always a few newbies out there. It is getting harder to get a response, but my main beef is that you can lose your shirt waiting for all that cash to flood in. If you are not making money you will give up sooner or later. For years I felt the purpose of media was to take all your profits in advertising and just keep you afloat. As I learned more, I was able to leverage these organisations and start to make a nice profit, which is what business is all about. For me, if I don’t make money within a few weeks, I usually pull the ads or change tactics.

How Would You Get To Me?

OK, back to the subject at hand. I get emails from all sorts of people offering a range of services, business opportunities, etc. Here is my reaction.

If you send me an email, and I have no idea who you are, I delete it! I no longer have time to sift through all this stuff.

If you call, I will take a look at what you have to offer. I am more likely to do this if you ask a little about me, and why I am so successful. Most people push their opportunity down my throat and use the same platitudes, like, “everyone I talked to jumped on this”, or “everyone in the world needs this”, or this is s new, when it is released, the whole world will want it”. I bet you have never heard any of these statements! They are red flags to me, even if they are true. I may look at it, but ma more likely to move on.

OK So What Works?

There are several ways you will get my interest.

Someone I know and trust recommends you. That is why affiliate marketing works so well. Your recommendation has a lot of weight. The downside of this is that if you suggest too much crap, you lose credibility.

I requested the information! Interesting. If I google looking for something and your site appears in the SEO listing or ads, I might take a look at it providing the headline and description catch my attention. It is not enough to place an ad or get your page ranked, it must grab attention and speak to the reader.

I meet you through a Social Network and develop a relationship. This takes time, but can work well, as I have the chance to get to know you before I purchase. Once I find out about your background, credentials, and the type of person you are, I may well purchase something off you or something you recommend.

If I see the program everywhere I look! One strategy is to get seen all over the place. If every time I look for help I see your advice, I will begin to think you are an expert.

I Think You Get The Idea

If you want to make money on line, it is no longer a simple matter of putting up and ad and sending people to a landing page. You need a systemized approach to convince people they will benefit from what you have to offer. In my experience, only 2 marketers I have studied with met the criteria. Mike Dillard’s Traffic Formula, which comes out of the vault every now and then was one. Armand Morin’s Internet Marketing Explained took it even further, and I learned heaps off him.

I have incorporated many of the ideas from these two, plus added some of my own insights and plucked useful bits from a number of other successful marketers to put my Profit Booster training together (I told you I have something to sell too). Take look around my articles, and take a look at the free stuff at http://salesprofitbooster.com/?p=502 and you can get an idea of some of the stuff I have on offer. I am going to constantly update and enhance this with material I have tested on my own products.

I trust you get a few clues from this article to get your profits up and increase traffic for whatever you are offering. It is wonderful to spend a few hours putting tog ether a new marketing system and have it produce month after month for years and years. This is the secret of internet marketing success. Set up a solid system that produces profits and rinse and repeat.

Which Little Pig Are You?

We all know the story of the three little pigs. Let’s face it, this is universal. I remember one Christmas viewing a display in Merida in the Yucatan and who could forget the Warner Brothers Jazz version, where the tag line is, “The Big Bad Wolf, he learned the rules. You got to be hot to play real cool.” In this cartoon the wolf wanted to join the three little pig’s band and couldn’t play the trumpet until he was killed! He went to hell and suddenly could play.

The House Of Straw

Many Networkers build their house on straw. They contact their friends and relatives and invite them to a meeting, just like they were told to. The challenge is that none of their contacts was even interested in a business, let alone annoying their own friends and relatives. One day they start getting bugged by their peer group. What are you doing in that scam! After a few months everyone quits and their house crumbles.

The House of Sticks.

Many see the folly of the friends and family approach. After all, you need at least a few hundred people in your organisation to make any sort of residual income! They realize they have to find a “cold” market and get them interested. These people go out and purchase leads, buy a whole heap of magic bullet solutions, advertise with a “shotgun” approach where they have no idea if they will get results. Now, some strike it lucky, but for most the big bad wolf comes along in the form of maxed out credit cards and because they simply aren’t making a profit from their marketing, they have to stop.

The House Of Bricks

You know about this one! There are others who put together a systematic plan for success. They build a complete marketing system with a solid foundation. They have multiple ways to attract prospects which is individualized to their own personality. They draw a tribe of similar people who love being part of their team. Of course, this takes time and effort and the guidance of someone who has gone before, but the long term results are there for all to see!

Which Do You Choose?

Personally, I have always built my businesses out of bricks, laying a solid foundation and building on it. I spent thousands of hours pouring through Internet Marketing courses, weeding out the wheat from the chaff, until I figured out a way to build marketing funnels that produced month after month and year after year. In fact some of these have been producing for over 5 years!

OK, it took a while to learn the skills and some time to apply them. Was it worth it – you bet! Now my first task when joining a new business is to construct an internet marketing funnel to drive leads and customers to me!

What Can You Do?

Well, there are many choices. You can do it yourself, trying out many different magic bullet solutions. You can set up replicating web sites, and all sorts of other piecemeal approaches. Or, you could join the MLM Profit Booster family and for just $27 a month, get the step by step training that will set you apart. Using this detailed material, you will be building on a solid foundation, and each layer of your business will be using bricks rather than sticks or straw. The result over time, is that you will see a constant stream of customers and prospects coming your way!

By John Gaydon

I put my first internet site up in 1998, when things were so much more difficult that they are now. Over the last 11 years, I have followed quite a number of gurus, spent thousands on training courses, and built a number of successful businesses – enough to increase my income by 30% year after year.

I have watched a few people go from nowhere to millionaires in a few years, and many more come and go very quickly. What I discovered is that the fake it before you make it philosophy is very prevalent on the net. There are so many people out there looking for a magic bullet to change their life, that business in a box products promising to do just that are appearing with gay abandon.

Maybe there are some people who purchased a product, pressed a button and made money, but I haven’t met them yet. The people I know who are successful spent many years perfecting their craft, building strategic relationships, and building a reputation as someone reliable and innovative. None of the people I know got there by accident!

My twitter inbox is full of carefully worded emails offering the definitive answer to my problem, the system that will print money from my PC and flood it into my paypal account. Friends of mine have ignored me and spent $5,000 or more on turnkey systems. Years later they have made so little money it doesn’t even cover monthly expenses. My question is, how many times have you donated to these marketers, and how many more times will you do it?

Of course, there is hope for all of us, and in my opinion it doesn’t lie in the hands of the latest duplicable cash cow. So is there a solution – a way you can change your life on line? Well yes, of course, I hardly leave the house these days and I am doing very nicely thank you!

The answer I have discovered is knowledge plus action produces income. The secret is to learn how to create success, how to build your own presence and become an expert in your own right. This is what the good people teach. A few points to look for in a mentor.

What is their point of interest? Some of us get a real buzz out of seeing someone whose life we touched succeed (I do). Others keep working out how they can grab more and more cash. Which would you follow?

Often the gurus share what worked last year, or last month these days as things change very fast. You want more permanent solutions.

The answer lies in a complete system, not just one aspect. Before you go off looking for that next magic bullet, you need to build your house on a solid foundation, or it will just wash away very quickly. I find that those who offer a complete solution have the better results. Go for the fancy stuff later!

Of course, personal motivation, personal development and ability to take action are all important. Without these, no one will succeed.

I am very excited about the internet and the future. I just want you to be discerning about what you get into. I have spent years studying with some great people and step by step assembled aspects that work – at least for me and some of my students. I am busy training a select group in my MLM Customer Acquisition System – my master plan to dominate any niche. I have as much as possible kept it step by step and cut out some of the options which don’t work. Even with this, there is a tremendous amount of work and faith required to get to the point where you have an unending flow of business and product customers coming to your door, but as you assemble all the elements they will come.

These days, I get all the business I need – I don’t want any more and that is why I am now devoting my time to training others – leveraging my skills.

I will offer this course more widely once I have ironed out the bugs, got a bunch of testimonies from real people, and trimmed down the fat so it is pure content and golden nuggets of ideas and strategies that work. Why not register if you haven’t already, and you will hear of progress and be one of the first to know when I do decide to unleash this on the wider community. You will also receive my special report titled, “7 Amazing Ways To Explode Your Network Marketing Success“.

In the meantime, reflect on my words, they may save you a fortune avoiding scams and get rich quick schemes – they never worked for me!
