Well, I just made record sales in one of my businesses after 10 years! Want to know how I did it? Read on and I will explain.

A month ago I decided to try another market for one of my products. I had some great testimonials and other data, so I thought it would be a good idea. Here is what I did.

First I googled the main keywords. This gave me a list of the most popular sites. I read everything in the top 10 sites and prepared a report based on what I read.

I looked at the google ads and followed the links to see what the competition was. Only one person was advertising the product I sell, and they simply sent everyone straight to their shopping cart – BIG MISTAKE!

I did my keyword research to see how many people were looking for keywords around the subject. This was to determine whether it was feaseable. I also checked out search synonyms (other words associated with the subject theme). I rewrote my sales page to reflect on the new market and keywords I wished to attract.

I set up a series of gateway pages which linked to my sales pages. I am in the process of split testing these to optimise the response.

I then constructed a series of ads based around specific keywords and went live. As i said this all took a couple of days and the ad has been running over a month now.

Results. One of my ads is pulling a 24% conversion to my sales page. My volume is up around 20% in a month and much of this is due to the new segment. While I don’t make a profit yet, I can see that with repeat business, it won’t be long before this small ad costing $30 a week has added nearly $500 a month to my income. Is it worth it? What do you think?

If I had pulled my ad after 3 weeks, I would be telling a different story. I would tell you I had wasted over $100 in advertising for very little result. This is what most people find. When they don’t get fast results, they quit and move on. It is a recipe for failure.

Obviously there are many skills I applied in researching, designing copy, and testing. These are what I will be teaching in my new CAS project. If you follow the steps I have outlined, you too can create extra income for yourself. If you keep adding profitable market segments to your internet marketing, you can create any amount of income over time. It is just taking a step at a time and repeating.

I have another project I am working on right now for a whole new country. In 2 weeks I have 4 sales, but it is too early to report back yet.

If you want to learn more from me, send an email to john@pems.com.au and I will get back to you.

Cheers,

John Gaydon
