I have spent the last few months reading “My life Fidel Castro”, his biography. It is a rather large work with over 720 pages of very small type! We visited Cuba in 2004, spending 8 days with a hire car travelling the country. It was an eye opening experience and gave me a basis to evaluate Fidel’s comments!

If you live in the United States, some of you might be a little offended. My aim is to tell it like it is, and will probably upset everyone, including the Cubans. The Cuban “Mafia” in Florida, and the faithful on the island both have their challenges. You would have to say that Cuba’s struggle is a little like the mouse that roared. Despite having nationalised American interests in the country and being just 100 miles from the US mainland with a US base on the island, Cuba continues to be independent and in some areas is superior to its big brother neighbour!

The Republic

In 1959, Castro and his revolutionaries crossed from Mexico into Cuba aboard the grandma, a small boat, to start a popular revolution. There had been earlier attempts to dislodge Batista, supported by the US and hated by many Cubans. There have been pictures of Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon powwowing with Batista, the Mafia was running Havana, and there was widespread corruption. Fidel was inspired by the teachings of Karl Marx and wanted to create a republic where every Cuban was equal.

The coup ended with a triumphant entrance to the Havana Hilton, where we stayed for 3 days. Here is where the dilemma starts. Would you believe that this hotel was openly being used for prostitution! Large groups of Mexican and South American men were travelling the country and we saw many liaising with young ladies in the hotel foyer (pictured). In fact the first night in Havana was quite an eye opener.

We picked up our car after an hour looking for the hire car representative, and headed for a hotel we booked at the airport. It was a long way through thilfy streets with ghetto like accommodation – whoops I forgot, everyone lives for free and in good conditions in Cuba! This is where we first saw the large groups of seedy men and wondered! The lift was broken so we walked up 11 flights of stairs to our room. There was a Cuban band in the restaurant which had limited food on the menu, later we found that that is the way it is in Cuba!

Happy People.

For the most part, the Cuban’s are a happy lot. They have world famous artists performing regularly in Havana and their Ballet and Baseball outfits are amongst the finest in the world. Housing, Health Services and Education are free, and there are food couples, so no one really should be starving. Fidel says he earns $30US a month and has no need of money. Maybe that is because he has absolute power in the country and doesn’t need it.

Steam trains are one of my loves, and I was lamenting not going earlier when hundreds of them worked the Sugar mills.

We headed out of Havana on our adventure. We were driving around the ring road when we crossed another old track, realizing that this was the freeway! It had pot holes everywhere, and was very wide.

Everyone in Cuba hitchhikes, and we did the right thing and picked up a local, mainly to have a chat. This lady’s family made cheese and she would bundle it up, hitchhike 200k to Havana, sell it and hitchhike back home!

We found the steam train working at the “Central Australia” Mill. I bit strange finding this on the other side of the planet! It was the only steam train I saw working. In the book Fidel tells how he shut down much of the sugar industry when he discovered that most mills were losing money.

The Cars

Cuba is famous for its 1950 car fleet. They are everywhere. Our hire car was much more modern – a shame really! At one point on the way to Playa Giron, or the Bay of Pigs where the US military were quickly defeated after the 1961 invasion, we had a flat tyre. We found a mechanic and they repaired it with a condom! This worked perfectly for the whole trip. These people are survivors and very inventive.

Foreign Policy

Fidel talks of liberating Angola from the South Africans. I was living in SA at the time this war was happening and no one said the SA Army was marching towards Luanda! Castro claimed credit for their defeat. He counts among those he admires, Saddam Hussein, Robert Mugabe, Nelson Mandela, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, and just about anyone who opposes the US! I think you can see why I have mixed feelings about this man. Some of these people are indeed heroes, while others are, in my opinion, thugs!

Capitalism

Fidel believes that any sort of capitalism is corrupt and should be stamped out. In Cuba they did that by compulsory purchase of all foreign owned assets. This is why the US is very upset, they owned most of them! He says his media is used to educate people, rather than sell products. We found that the media was a propaganda machine for the government, with typical communist slogans about the revolution and its enemies. Yet another contradiction here.

In my opinion, Cuba is anything but a free country politically. You can vote for anyone, as long as they agree with Castro!

Fidel says that everyone is free to express themselves. In Havana I managed to have long conversations with a couple of people who were very guarded. They said that informers were everywhere, and if you did anything counter revolutionary, you were in trouble. Privileged businesses like home stays were for the faithful, who could make extra money letting people stay in their houses.

When rent is free, the government decides what type of house you will live in!

My Conclusion

I could go on for hours about Cuba, but I think I have presented enough. It is not Utopia, although everyone is relaxed and races mix very well together. Fidel is an amazing man. He has a strong vision and against all odds has kept the US at bay for over 50 years! That shows what can be done with an iron will. If you are that passionate about something you wish to achieve, it can be done, providing others are inspired to join you. Fidel will go down in history as probably the most successful Socialist leader, and has created a better life for many Cubans.

Despite his shortcomings, he is inspiring for those of us who wish to make a difference in the world regardless of the system!

In today’s world, meditation is essential. One thing that people can always acknowledge is that most of us meditate in a way or the other. Various kinds of meditation strategies exist, like for example chakra meditation techniques and many others. However, researchers have usually classified these types of meditation in to two distinct categories; concentrative as well as non-concentrative meditation.

In concentrative meditation the person focuses on a specific issue which is usually outside of oneself; including the sound of a specific instrument, the sound of birds singing or maybe more interestingly over a flame of a candle. On the other hand non-concentrative form of meditation involves a great expansive focus; for instance the sounds in the person’s surroundings or things going on within his or her internal body and at last an individual’s own breathing.

But, it really is worth remembering that occasionally these techniques could overlap, as one kind of meditation can have both the concentrative and the non-concentrative elements. Hundreds of thousands regarding specific meditation types are available, the majority of them have in one way or another developed into new ones over time. This work covers only a few of them.

Easy Meditation

This can be regarded as probably the most effective form of meditation in the first place especially if the personl is not accustomed to sitting for elongated durations focusing on a specific issue or even object. People practicing this sort of mediation should look for a relaxing and thoroughly clean place where they can spend 20-25 minutes alone. And with time as one gradually gains additional control then he or she might boost the time period.

Category Awareness

This kind of meditation helps one concentrate on particular things that are usually deemed helpful in meditation. The fact people find that it is hard to concentrate on 1 specific thing is the first step toward this meditation kind.

Others include transcendental meditation which is concerned with increasing intelligence as well as creativity, mindfulness meditation, walking meditation, breath observing meditation as well as empty brain meditation and others. Check out meditation for dummies, specifically if you are a newbie to meditation.

Prosperity is a word which is thrown about quite a bit. Do we fully understand what it definitely means to be prosperous? The literal interpretation includes two individual meanings. The first suggests becoming successful. It signifies possessing good luck in one or many of the areas associated with ones own life. Most could possibly think of this as great luck or perhaps a windfall of sorts. The other definition of prosperity means success in a more general view. Related to that which comes through the persistent flow of success in a business enterprise. It is thought to be a good deal more of a prosperous time period, not just abundance alone.

On the level associated with countries, abundance is typically calculated by the GDP. Most experts feel that this particular strategy has a lot of shortcomings because it ignores aspects like the costs associated with harming air and water, as well as the costs sustained by car accidents or caused by crime. Researchers happen to be actually trying to develop a well being index.

Presently there happen to be several complications with this particular undertaking. One is the problems concerned in identifying the costs of environmental destruction or expressing the disappearance of a species in terms of dollars and cents. These people don’t want to be accused of being arbitrary in their choice of which signals to utilize.

To put it differently, there is no lack of recommendations relating to the best way to specify well-being. That is specifically because the large range of conceivable solutions that the prominence connected with the classic growth concept is actually so tough to rest. Up to now, anyhow, virtually no different system has come out on top. Individuals encounter the exact dilemma.

Despite the fact that the dictionary can certainly clarify the premise of prosperity, only you’re able to establish it for yourself. While others may see massive homes and new cars as prosperity, you may possibly not look at it that way. It’s possible that success comes in the form of how long you can spend with family. Perhaps it is the number of children you have. The definition of wealth is just a flexible interpretation of what you consider total success to be.

Wealth does not mean settling for second best. Yes, you should be satisfied with where you are, but it doesn’t mean that you have to stay in the life you have got. You could strive to be wealthy, regardless of what it means to you personally. It may mean that you could have extra income. It may also mean that you could have far better well-being or possibly a completely different profession. Possibly it is creating a profession coming from anything you happen to be obsessed with or aiming to achieve total well being by working out a whole lot more in addition to eating far better.

Do not allow others establish the method that you assess prosperity. It is your life and so really should be lived to the best of your skills. Take the time to figure out what your own meaning of prosperity is and exactly what actions may well be essential so that you can attain that degree of achievement.

It happened Tuesday. We were quietly sitting by the fire, getting warm, when we heard a big crack! We looked out the window and witnessed a massive tree limb fall on the house we were staying in, wrecking the gutter and hitting the roof with a thud. Fortunately the roof stayed intact, and we were able to complete our stay!

This was our 20th Wedding Anniversary, and we were about to have dinner in the very room where we had our reception all those years ago. In fact, we spent our wedding night in this very cabin!

St Mounts is a wonderful old style guesthouse from the late 19th century, with period furniture and an amazing atmosphere. It really hadn’t changed much in the 20 years since our wedding. I wish I could say the same for my looks!

The picture left is taken in the lounge where I was sitting when the tree fell.

Now, I am a student of metaphysics, and we had a very powerful bonding the day we connected on a rebirthing workshop all those years ago. We scoured the Blue Mountains looking for the perfect reception venue, and St Mount’s felt right. On the day, I went up there with my family and organised the reception to the last detail. I have done logistics for many events, and wanted to make sure we could just enjoy ourselves on the night.

When Linda came up from Sydney she went through an horrendous thunderstorm so bad that they could hardly see ahead. The wedding party duly arrived as the weather cleared to a magical sunset at Sublime Point (picture at left). It was pretty special.

Well, I believe everything happens for a reason, so the tree falling at that particular time can’t possibly be a coincidence. I am interested in whether you have had a similar experience, or can shed some light or insight on what this event means.

The place is operated by an ex detective and they hold murder mystery nights there, so its over to the super sleuths among you!

In any event it was an anniversary to remember!

Some of you may have read my article on manifestation. It is one of the chapters of “Life Mastery – how to achieve it” available as a free download from this site, and was included in another compilation of articles on manifesting in the real world.

The ideas I present on this subject emanate from my “prosperity Plus” course, which taught many people how to get what they desired for their lives. They are sound metaphysical principles, and as I am about to demonstrate, they work.

Background

A few weeks ago, I was working on one of our cars. It was getting a bit long in the tooth, and experiencing some annoying problems. Like many of our cars, this one came for free, as my mother moved to Queensland and took pity on us because we had a child due soon after her move. We have been driving it for nearly 6 years. The story is that while working on the brakes, it rolled across the street, had some minor damage and insurance decided to pay us out rather than repair it.

Do We Need Two Cars?

For a minute, we thought about getting by with one vehicle. Unfortunately, we live out of the city and it takes 2 hours or more to get anywhere by public transport, if it is available. With a 5 year old, and one of us working, our desire for a second vehicle was strong. Coupled to that, our other car is quite small, and high mileage could greatly shorten its working life.

Hint: you need a strong desire to manifest things in life.

Clarity

Now we set about looking at what sort of car we would like. Something that was good on gas, less than 10 years old, with room for the family. We started looking on line and bit by bit started to visualize our new car.

The Rules

I didn’t want to spend a penny of our own money on this. When we started looking there were surprisingly few cars that fit our criteria within our budget, and the mileage on most was above our requirement. We waited. In the meantime, the insurance paid out on the old car and we were given a small sum towards a replacement. So now we had some cash in the bank.

As we kept looking, there was nothing that really stood out. A couple of cars that asked about were already sold when we called. One thing I know is that if it is not easy, it is usually not right! I trust myself to be guided to the right place without struggle.

Taking Action

After a few weeks, I was getting sick of only having one car. It was time to get serious, so I withdrew the budgeted amount form the bank. At the same time, would you believe I received an offer of a low interest loan from a credit card company. This actually helps reduce our interest bills and increase cash flow.

With cash in hand, we did another search and very quickly found a car that fitted the criteria. It was $500 over budget, but we had a good feel, so we went to look at it. We only looked at one car! This is about not struggling.

The Result

We saw the car, liked it and purchased it for exactly our budget! Insurance valued it at $2,000 more than we paid, and it is a great car for us. Under 10 years old, low mileage, plenty of room for the family, and a vehicle that will serve us for many years.

Be Grateful

Finally, we are very grateful to the Universe for supplying our needs. It has been this way for over 25 years now, and once this becomes a habit, all that you need will come to you effortlessly. We aren’t always in the zone, but life works out anyway. After driving the car for a while, we noticed it had cruise control, something I have longed for in a car! A real bonus.

You Can Do This

Desire is the starting point for this exercise. A strong desire can move mountains. It is not enough on its own, however. Be very clear and visualize exactly what you want, and take action. We put no pressure on ourselves. We just believed that a vehicle would appear that would fit the bill, and it did without impacting the family finances.

What do you want to manifest, and what is your plan? Share it, and others reading this post will help imagine you achieving your desires! Won’t you.

PS: Even our 5 year old loves the new car!

You might be wondering what the hell this post is all about, and I can fully understand. My story ends with a fateful day when my car rolled down the driveway, across the road and into the neighbours house. It all happened in slow motion just like the car insurance commercials!

Now, I am a student of metaphysics, and I believe everything happens for a reason. When Linda and I decided to do a household budget many years ago, there was a lot of resistance. In the end a friend handcuffed us until we sorted it out and refused to tell us where the key was hidden until we made a budget! We even went to the movies handcuffed. It was a lot of fun, and yes, we eventually made a budget.

The result was that one evening Linda came home from work and put $450, her portion of the household budget, on the kitchen bench. I came home from work and 30 minutes later, two men with stockings over their heads and shorn off shotguns broke in and held us up at gunpoint. It was very scary, and after a long time they left with the budget cash! Coincidence? Well, I don’t think so.

There were other issues happening at the time. My wife was asked to join her mentor on a men only course that weekend and she had been resisting. After the incident, we decided it better for both of us to get out of the house for a few days, so she changed her mind. I have experienced many other similar situations throughout my life, although few have been as life threatening!

Back to the brakes. I needed to change the brakes on the family car. The front brakes were fine, but the rear ones hadn’t been touched for years. As it turned out, I didn’t do everything exactly right, so a few days later, I put the car up on stands and fixed the problem. I figured while I was doing this I might adjust the handbrake. Then I pulled the wedges away from the wheels and realized I hadn’t re-engaged the parking break. I tried to slow the car down and watched it slowly roll down the drive, across the street and come to rest on the neighbours house. Very embarrassing and thought there was little damage my car has been written off by the insurance company.

Now I am left to contemplate why this happened. Yes, I know, I should have had the car in park or the handbrake on, but that is just plain too simplistic. It may be that my wife had been telling me we need to get rid of this car as it was getting too old! Words are powerful, you know. It is interesting that I had just fixed the brakes and the brakes not being engaged caused the problem. Hmm. Maybe there is something I need to listen to.

I am open to suggestions as to exactly what the lesson is here. My experience is that every time I take a leap forward, or take the brakes off, things seem to go wrong. Perhaps I am being told it is again time to really go for it. Life is good, but it could be so much better if a couple of things turned out how I would like.

Anyway today they took my car away. Sob, sob. We are looking for another to replace it. Life goes on. There will always be opportunities and challenges. I feel very positive about where my life is heading, even though I have no idea what that is!

Stay in the present moment, and all is well in your world! It is true, try it sometime.

Take care,

John

If you are not having the success you desire, I bet I know the reason! At least for me, plugging away with long term goals in mind keeps my business moving, even in hard times. Sure, it is hard on occasion, but when I talk to many others who don’t experience the same level of success as I do, it is always that they are not consistent with their actions.

Baseball hitters aren’t paid on the number of home runs, it is their batting average that determines salary. It is the same with Cricket. One performance is great, but consistency over time is the key to success. Amazingly enough, this is often overlooked when measuring success in business.

How It Works

I guess the parable of the Hare and the Tortoise sums it up. The hare races away from the gate at 1,000 mph, and then takes a rest. Meanwhile, the tortoise plods along at a steady pace and soon enough, overtakes the hare and wins the race.

I have considerable success marketing products on the internet, with turnover of $10-15,000 month after month and a good level of commission coming to me. I have built this up over 6 years. Every now and then I add a video, article, or send a broadcast email to one of my lists. Simply put, I keep in touch. It works and keeps the sales coming, even in tough times.

Now, I am not saying I am perfect by any means – in fact I have been rather slack of late. I do keep in touch with my list though, and my constant application to the task at hand sees me with excellent page 1 listings on google for my country. Those listings result in over 300 a day visiting web sites and now that google have stopped me advertising with them, all of my new customers.

Will It Work For You?

Well, it all depends. The trick is to have a product to market that has a story, people want it when they know what it is, and to be able to reach your audience. In my Ice to Eskimos post, I covered what happens when you sell to the converted – nothing! A few days ago, in the local swimming pool, I was talking to a friend, who is a successful marketer for a large company. He is on the opposite side of the political spectrum to me and was wondering why a seminar he was staging with a professional climate sceptic wasn’t getting ticket sales.

I thought about it for a while, and here is my take. If you believed that climate change didn’t exist would you pay for someone to tell you what you already know? I would say probably not. If you were, like me a believer in climate change, would I go and pay money to throw tomatoes at this guy or listen to him talk BS? I think not.

In my opinion, there is probably not a big market for people to pay money to hear what this guy has to say. Now these people are getting council rate notices identifying that their properties will be under water in 50 years or so. If the organizers could convince everyone that attending this event would be the key to removing this caveat, I bet they would all gladly pay $15 and fill up the room

Are You Selling Something With A Market

Understand that I research my market. I research my product and delve into who is looking for this kind of solution. I scour the media for stories where I can solve a problem. When I do, I offer a solution – my products! I do this consistently and it gets results.

What About Consistency?

OK, I digress. The point of this post is to explain that doing what I do on a regular basis builds rapport with your audience, and results in sales, which pushes the business forward. I am still one of the top recruiters in my MLM. It is the relationship I build with my customers fuelled by consistence of action and a passionate belief in the solutions I offer that creates this.

And The Big Boys?

Let’s look at Ryan Deiss. He sends out an email for a webinar where he is going to teach you something for free that you have to watch, or your business will be dead in a few months. On the seminar he explains what the problem is, how to resolve it, and why without his new product you will fail! He puts a deadline and makes a bunch of money.

A couple of weeks later he is at it again. Same pitch, same video, but a new and even stronger campaign to get you to watch that video. He may do it a couple more times until sales drop.

Now something happens. Our friend Ryan puts out a new campaign saying that everything has changed and you need to know something else to survive! He even implies everything he has sold to you doesn’t work anymore and you must have this brand new program! This covers him for all those people who used his product and got nowhere!

I have seen Mike Filsaime, Armand Morin, Frank Kern and many others use exactly the same formula. People keep buying their programs!

There is a common link here – consistency. Many of these products don’t sell. Some campaigns get little result. They don’t tell you that bit! By consistently sending strong offers and free webinar trainings on the latest trends, they hook their list into spending huge amounts of money on programs many never implement.

Do You Get It?

So I am not alone with my success coming from consistency of action and trying new ideas on a regular basis. The Big Boys do it too. Are you doing this?

If you are not getting the results, you need a plan to work to. That is what my program is about. It does work if you take the information and apply it CONSISTENTLY! I am about to win my 22nd Network Marketing reward trip in the last 9 years. How about you?

I am sure you learnt something from this post. Want more results, slow down, plan your next few moves and then take action consistently.

Later this year, we have 3 of the richest people in the personal development world are coming to Australia to appear at the same 3 day event. Never before have Donald Trump. Robert Kiyosaki and Tony Robbins appeared on the same bill! Let’s face it, if you haven’t heard of these 3, you have been living under a rock for the last few years!

About the same time I heard about this, I received my latest mortgage statement from the bank, and decided to do some sums. Now we have been in our house for nearly 20 years, faithfully paying the mortgage every month. What struck me was that while we borrowed $135,000, we have now paid over $201,000 in interest, and we still owe most of the money! In other words, the bank is $201,000 richer, or $10,000 a year has gone directly from our pockets to them! Even now interest is at 7.46%. This is set by a consortium of bankers and the government. It is an arbitrary figure and you have to pay it or you can’t borrow the money!

How The Poorer You Are, The More The System Works Against You

Right now, in the US there is a fundamental debate going on. As you know the US is in a 14 trillion dollar debt. Both sides agree that unlimited spending will eventually lead to a meltdown of the economy. Although in truth who is going to refuse a loan to the US and bring the country down financially? Let’s face it Greece and Ireland are getting bailed out, and their collapse is nowhere near is threatening as that of the US. If the US defaults, we are all in deep trouble!

The republicans want to cut Social Welfare, while the Democrats want to remove tax cuts from the rich. So far the republicans are winning! Did you know that many rich people pay little income tax. It is what brought down Greece. If you are rich in Greece you pay no tax! In Australia, there was a famous case where Kerry Packer, at the time a multi billionaire and the richest man in Australia paid $1 income tax for the year. He did it legally!

Let me explain how the money system works. At the top are the multi millionaires. They have access to special investments at very high interest rates. These are things such as venture capital where they bankroll developments for a high return, remortgaging finance, etc. Even in today’s economy rich people can get a solid 12% return on capital.

As your wealth is less, you have access to other investments, but not those of the elite. Fact is, when you have assets, you can leverage them to produce income. In other words, properly managed, they grow. The rich get richer, and the richer they are, the faster they get rich, re-investing their profits in even higher return deals.

So, at the top, you pay little tax, and have access to high interest rate investments.

What About The Poor?

Well, if you don’t have assets, you have to borrow money to buy things. If you have a good income, you get a lower interest rate. When you have no assets, and little income, you end up paying 20% on credit card debt, or even more at a loan shark. In effect you are working for the lending institutions, not to feed your family. The poorer you are, the more you pay! It is the exact opposite of the rich.

How Can We Cross The Gap?

Well, here is a place where these three gentlemen have common ground. The Donald purchased a whole heap of property in New York in the 1980s. There was a property crash, and he ended up in debt for a fortune with the banks. He told them they had two choices, lend him another fortune for a new development, or have him default on the loan and send the bank out of business. Sound familiar? As it turns out, real estate took off again, and he is now one of the richest men on earth.

When I attended ‘Money & You” with Robert Kiyosaki back in the 1980s, we had no idea that he was some $500,000 in debt. He started his climb to the top selling T shirts in Hawaii, and made real money wrapping real estate, a practice of buying a property and selling it at a profit before settlement. Effectively he leveraged the banks money. Governments and banks are doing everything they can to stamp out this unfair practice where people who are not rich can make lots of money!

Tony Robbins was sued for stealing someone else’s material when he started his Personal Power Course. Tony was early into infomercials and cashed in big time using Hollywood stars for testimonials. It is funny how fame begat fame and pretty soon he was the hot property in Personal Development.

And For You?

Well, step 1 is to set up some savings accounts. One for large purchases, a millionaire account, an annual income account and a financial independence account. You put 20% of your income into these, and figure out how to live on what is left!

Large Purchases

This account is when you want to purchase a capital item like a fridge, lawn mower, or Plasma TV. You only buy when you have enough in your large purchases account to cover it.

Millionaire

This is an account you never withdraw from. As your money accumulates, you use it for investments. As your cash grows you get larger and larger returns, and eventually become a millionaire! It is a matter of time, providing you don’t spend the money.

Annual Income

This one is so you can take a holiday. The aim is to build up a year’s salary so you can take a year off if you choose.

Financial Independence

If you are in network marketing you are on your way to having this covered. You invest in this account for a regular monthly income. You can spend that income as part of your salary. Imagine an extra $1,000 a month on top of whatever wage you get right now. For most people this would make the difference between building richness and remaining poor. I put $2,000 in a bank account a few years ago and earned $20 a month. My income rose while I had that investment in place.

Final Words

All of this is designed to shift your mindset from poor to rich. Put your bills in a drawer and get them out once a month to pay them or arrange finance. That way you only think about the one day a month. Most people think constantly about bills, so they remain in poverty thinking. What you focus on expands. Focus on your savings accumulating, growing residual income, and knowing you can pay yourself to take a holiday and watch the magic happen. Once these habits are ingrained, you will start moving towards the rich at an ever increasing rate.

When I started Teaching courses on abundance and prosperity back in 1987, it was due to pressure from friends. My first course ran for 5 weeks and we had almost instant results with one person manifesting a new car and another, a full time job before the course ended. Yet another of my early students ended up forming a corporation that now promotes some of the top Personal Development Seminars in Australia including Chris Howard!

This was all very exciting, and that material was added to and expanded to form my Prosperity Plus Weekend Experience. I ran many workshops with the purpose of helping people change their perception about success and money and providing practical tools for change. Interestingly my current partner found my brochure before I met her and was considering applying for the training! So, you could say this transformed my life in a very big way!

Abundance Or Money?

Now I know you can make lots of money. You just have to work and study very hard, be totally ruthless with your intention, and spend as little as possible. There are many miserable millionaires around that have done just that. Some of them drive Taxis, putting their lives at risk, so they don’t have to touch their investments. Still others buy home brand food to save a few pennies, rather than purchase healthy alternatives. I play Tennis with a Head Of Department for a local Hospital who brings no name biscuits to share! He could afford a little more, don’t you think!

Money Does Not Buy Happiness

Early on, I studied the works of Leonard Orr, self proclaimed guru, who is considered the father of rebirthing amongst other things. Leonard once organised a seminar in Australia and didn’t even show up! People were very angry. His take was that this was their choice, and that prosperity was a state of mind. It is something to ponder. I heard of another technique, the name of which escapes me, where you put a group in a room and leave them. They are expecting a leader, and when no one turns up, the group starts to reform according to the beliefs of the participants. You can probably guess that the leaders in the group end up taking charge!

There are plenty of miserable rich people around. Just look at the news on TV. Or read Charles Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol”. If you want ot see the other side, take a look at the classic movie. “It’s A Wonderful Life” with James Stewart.

You Can Be A Money Magnet

On my Prosperity Course we play a lot of fun money games. One is to grab a dollar bill and pass it around the room. To get the bill you have to offer something of value. Most people don’t give very much for one dollar. We increase it to $20 and then $50 and for fifty dollars you get much more value. In some cases thousands of dollars of value are created in this exercise.

The money ends up back where it came from, in my wallet! This means money has nothing to do with creation of wealth. It is just a means of exchange. Create enough value for your product or service, and people will pay you! Simple, isn’t it. Another game was for everyone to take five dollars and move amongst participants, exchanging their money for goods and services. Basically you negotiated to get the cash. Always the person who I felt has the best prosperity attitude ends up with the cash.

Our Secret Game

We have a special process which is the highlight of the workshop. I am not going to tell you what it is! I can say that everyone gets dressed up and there are cocktails involved. We make it really special with live entertainment too. The next morning we tally up the results, and again always the person who gives freely without expectation of return attracts the most money!

What Does All This Mean About Abundance?

Abundance is our birthright. There is a bountiful supply of everything we require to thrive on this planet. If we are truly grateful for what we have, we open the doors to receiving more. When we feel cheated, envious, hard done by, we push away that which is there for us. I have proven this on my workshops. You may amass millions, but if you have a poor abundance mentality, when you do decide to spend your loot, circumstances will happen to take it all away, leaving you with the lifestyle you are familiar with. That is why so many people get financial windfalls and get swindled. This includes Lottery winners, Movie Stars and Sports Stars. It is simply amazing.

There are other people who seem to have everything, even though they earn little. When they need something, it is either given to them, or the money suddenly appears. They have no assets, but don’t need them. They are supremely happy, with or without possessions. They truly don’t care! These people can’t be manipulated with fancy sales pitches. They just enjoy life and all it has to offer. They are often called “Mystics”.

Who Do You Want To Be?

Here we all have a choice. We could be Uncle Scrooge who is rich with no life, or someone who lives their life adding value to the lives of others, expecting nothing in return. I am not saying to abandon your savings, sell your house, donate everything to charity and become a Buddhist Nun, I am saying that abundance is a state of mind, not a measure of your bank balance.

Closing Words.

If you want to know what it feels like to be a millionaire, here is how you can do it. Get out your checkbook and write yourself a check for $1m. Sign and date it and put it on the wall. The only thing you can’t do is cash it.

Let’s spend our time thinking of how we can add value to our planet and the people on it. In the end, I believe it is the best way to ensure our future and our abundance.

No folks, I am not talking about panel beaters, but those who prod and poke people with their many brands of massage and energy healing! The fact is there are a myriad of different methods used in an effort to keep our bodies mobile and erect ( I mean posture) for as long as possible.

Here I am relating some of my experiences at the magical hands of those who claim to be able to heal the body. I think you will find them fascinating.

Why Body Workers Are Attracted To Me.

No, it is not my amazing good looks, perfume or animal magnetism. Whenever they look at me the dollar signs light their eyes as they see a man who according to them should be immobile due to bad posture. Only last week an old lady with shocking posture told me I was on my way to permanent disability with my back.

I have made it to 59 and I have no pain in my body, except from when I push it really hard at the gym. I will do my best to tell my story in sequence. It may help one of you choose the best path to that perfect body we all seek. I say, never give up on looking better, being fitter and being able to do all the things in life you wished to. Might just take up scuba diving soon!

Postural Integration

It all started at my first Personal Development course. I really was a normal Aussie male before then. Didn’t care of myself at all, ate all sorts of food, and considered myself fine. My first “treatment” was postural integration ( everybody has a special name for what they do!) A young lady with enormous strength started prodding and poking me on a massage table. I think her name was Beth, it was quite a while ago. As she released stuff from my muscles, I screamed with excruciating pain. She explained I was letting go of past memories stored in my body and I believed her. I would have thoughts from childhood associated with this hurt.

How My Feet Realigned!

When I was young, I wasn’t that good at running, or anything sporty. I did OK, and I noticed my shoes always wore away on the inside of the sole! One day, this all changed!

While in New York on a 6 months Personal Development course there were a couple of Swedes who did Body Harmony. This technique was created by a guy named Don McFarland, who I have met. The concept is to bring the body back into alignment, by gently releasing trauma locked into muscle tissue. The way we hold ourselves is a reflection of our deep held beliefs. Through bodywork, we can release past beliefs that limit our results in life. OK, so these guys were doing a demo to drum up clients and they need a guinea pig – me! I lay on the table as they prodded and pushed various parts of my body for an hour. Nothing much seemed to happen, and at the end, I went on my way.

Well, as I hit the streets, I noticed my feet had realigned. No longer was I favouring the inside of the soul. I took my shoes off and walked home barefoot. I had to purchase another pair so I could walk normally. Since that day, my shoes wear very evenly.

Body Harmony – Lasting Results

Something that prompted me to write this piece was a visit to a shoe shop last week, where I was put on a fancy machine that measures pressure points on your feet. I came out with near perfect alignment and distribution of weight! That means that 23 years on from my one Body Harmony treatment, my feet never went back to the way they were – impressive. If you are interested in this, my old friends Duncan Hogg and Gina Caruthers can help. Find them on google.

Patrick Collard

Patrick was an extraordinary Psychic healer. He is no longer with us, but I thought him worth a mention. I had a session with Patrick in a friend’s apartment in New York. I say this because there was definitely no trickery at play.

Patrick did a sort of combo of Chiropractic and energy work. He would hold an arm, and push hard asking me to forgive my mother, or something similar. As I felt an energy release, the lights flashed before my eyes – extraordinary. Patrick was one of a kind and will be missed. He taught me that we are energy beings, and that we store energy in our bodies. Once we release our blockages, our bodies free up and we can live more vibrant lives.

Varsha

While I was studying rebirthing in Melbourne, Australia, I came across another remarkable healer. I attended a weekend with Varsha, a massage therapist who lived with the Rajneesh in Oregon. She told us tales of amazing things that happened at the compound, and even thought there were many problems, some amazing healers gathered in that space. She took us through some very sensual massage techniques including dancing blindly with free motion, and being touched by a multitude of people at the same time. A great way to open you up to receiving love.

Rolfing

This is yet another bodywork technique. My partner and I signed up0 for 10 sessions, and boy, this is not for the faint hearted. On one of the sessions I had a finger up my nose and on another a fist down my throat. The system is very structured and designed to realign your posture. The results were good, although it is rather expensive.

Shiatsu

I was fortunate enough to have sessions with Marika, a Japanese lady who had Politicians and diplomats amongst her clientele. She bent and cracked my body for an hour at a time with remarkable results. I would recommend you only go to a highly qualified practitioner for this, as they crack necks and other bones and it requires a high level of skill to avoid injury.

OK, so there are a few of the Bodywork methods I had performed on me. Perhaps one of them appeals to you. Many of my friends practice Bowen Technique, and Alexander Technique is another highly thought of.

In the end, it is amazing how much trauma we store in our bodies. Living a long, vital life means releasing these feelings, and bodywork is a very physical way to achieve this! Give it a go – it just might change your life.
